When we started TexTale 3 years ago, we never imagined reaching this milestone. From humble beginnings to now being part of an exclusive group of companies recognized for their social and environmental performance, TexTale has officially earned B Corp certification.
What is B Corp™
In business, a B Corporation (also B Corp) is a for-profit corporation certified for its social impact by B Lab, a global non-profit organization. To be granted and to maintain certification, companies must receive a minimum score of 80 from an assessment of its social and environmental performance, integrate B Corp commitments to stakeholders into company governing documents, and pay an annual fee based on annual sales. Companies must re-certify every three years to retain B Corporation status.

As the business world increasingly values social and environmental performance alongside profit, becoming a certified B Corporation™ (B Corp™) has emerged as a powerful way to demonstrate a company’s commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices.
B Lab reports there are 9,140 certified B corporations across 162 industries in 102 countries worldwide as of August 2024.

Our B Corp journey
Becoming a B-Corp wasn’t just a goal—it was a reflection of our core values. The certification process involved a rigorous assessment of our business practices, from our supply chain and employee benefits to our environmental footprint and community engagement. Here’s a look at our journey:
Assessment: We completed the comprehensive B Impact Assessment, which evaluates a company's impact on its workers, community, environment, and customers.
Meeting Requirements: We had to score at least 80 out of 200 points to qualify. This required significant changes in our operations, governance, and social and environmental practices.
Legal Accountability: We adjusted our corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders. This involved altering our company's legal status and adopting new corporate governance frameworks.
Certification: After meeting the performance and legal requirements, we completed the verification process, paid the certification fee, and signed the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence.
Why This Matters to Us:
For TexTale, this certification is more than just a badge—it’s a promise. It’s a promise to continue prioritizing people and planet alongside profit. It’s a promise to our customers that when you choose our products/services, you’re supporting a business that cares about making the world a better place.
